Hi  Daffnetters ,
Another  small local  show  in  our  area  today , Thursday  17  Sept …
Officially  the Centenial  Spring  Show  of  the  Rongotea  &  District  Horticultural  &  Produce  Society.
Well  done  Rongotea ,  going  well  but  like most  shows  these  days  , not  a lot  of new  faces  to  help
with  the  manual  side  of  things  and  to  man  the  desks …
Rongotea  is  a  small  settlment  at  a  busy  road  intersection  in  rural  Manawatu ;  surrounded  by  some
of  the  best  farmland  in  the  country  ,  a prosperous  Dairying  area  and  the  show is  in the  local  rugby
clubrooms  which  act  as  a  community  centre  .It,s  a  newish  building , great  facilitys  and  a friendly  crowd.
Rongotea  was  a  local  Maori  chief  from  an  earlier  era …
Judge  today  was  Reg  Cull ;  Wilfred  Hall  in  the  Novice  and  amateur  grades .
Champion  Bloom  was  3 W – O  —  exhibited  by  Brian  MacKenzie
Judge  Reg  on  left  and  Brian  with  his  Champion.
