This one you probably will not see at any shows ; unless they have a class for deepest red cup.
Laphroaig — 2 Y – R — raised by D N Y Olson.
This is the reddest red cup that I have seen .
A medium sized flower , 90 – 95 mm, quite smooth but narrow perianth ,good deep yellow perianth.
The cup opens deep orange red with a deeper red serated rim .As it matures , the whole cup colour
intensifies and the rim colour is almost a burnt red appearance.
Hard to capture on camera but in some seasons , almost a definite red colour.

Doug Olson enjoyed a dram of whiskey in the evening and rated Laphroaig as one of his favourite
Scotch Whiskeys ; it,s from a small distillery and in N Z was not easily obtainable but Doug rated
it well worth the searching …
Just in the interest of accuracy, Laphroaig is a Scotch Whisky. It is spelt whiskey in theUSA and Ireland .
