news of lightning damage to ADS Journal Editor, Loyce McKenzie’s home

Friends, Loyce McKenzie, ADS Journal Editor, has asked me to let everyone know that a week ago, her home was struck by lightning, and this caused sufficient damage to force Loyce and her husband, Herman, out of their home, so that extensive repairs can begin.  Fortunately the wing of the house where Loyce’s office is located…  was unharmed.  Their homeowners insurance is in full gear to restore their home and their lives back to normal, as quickly as possible. They are temporarily at an extended stay hotel, and will move to an apartment shortly.  Loyce asks that you do not phone, and that she has limited time right now to respond to e-mails.  Despite the challenges she faces, Loyce has a positive attitude and is working to get her life in operational mode as fast as possible.  She is the quintessential Southern woman, a combination Velvet Steamroller, and a Steel Magnolia.  Her snail mail address remains the same, and she tells me she is at her residence almost every day, to retrieve things, check on things, respond to work being done, etc.  So I’m sure she would appreciate snail mailed notes and cards of encouragement.  As Loyce provides additional information, and asks me to do so, I will post updates.
