Thanks John for getting the results and photos from the Otaki show so promptly. I hope others and in NZ and Aus can do the same.

For what is reported as an awful season the flower quality looks very good and high entries are a sign of good things. Makes me think daffodil growers are all liars with their pre season predictions. Makes me also think I will leave my flowers at home for the National in Gisborne next week.

My ground is rock solid and bone dry. The flowers, which grew quickly after rain a fortnight ago have all fallen over after a heavy 6* frost last night. Another frost tonight should have finished the damage.

Such is the life of a daffodil grower.
