Flowering to-day

All,
This is a little home made hybrid from N. asturiensis x N. bulbocodium that glories in the name of N. x brevitubulosus.
Flowers from this 3 year old  cross have been opening over the last 3 weeks or so and there are still buds forming,
Flowers open on 2-3 inch stems that grow to about 4-5 inches at maturity and flowers are little more than 1inch in diameter, and they all seem to measure 2Y-Y. From two early spring flowering species I do not understand why they are blooming so early – unless the N. bulbocodium parent (unspecified in my records) was one of the autumn
bloomers, still hanging about in wait for a pretty little asturiensis to appear. Some bulbs are producing more than
one flower – not bad for 3 years from seed!
