In the attached foto is a lost label cultivar.  Certainly common and I think may be ‘Saint Patrick’s Day’.  The cultivar at the left is ‘Spellbinder’, an real stalwart in the garden.  I love the acid colours of both cultivars.

Thanks,

  1. Jamie,
It is most likely that Saint Patrick’s Day is on the left and Spellbinder is on the right.  SPD has a spread out, funnel shaped  cup and Sp. has a tubular cup with a spread out ruffle at the edge.

  2. Donna,

I think you are right!  Well, the puzzle looks to be solved.  I have the two planted together in a drift, where they create a wonderful flash of colour and delicate scent.

    thanks,
