Hello,
I am new to this service.  I want to purchase some good quality King Alfred or Carlton daffs.  It appears to be very late in the season and suppliers that I have checked are out of these.

Any suggestions?

Hi, Janet,  'King Alfred' is not really a commonly available daffodil.  Most 'King Alfred' daffodils sold are not 'King Alfred', but a 'King Alfred' type daffodil (no matter what the packaging says).  In other words, if you buy an inexpensive daffodil labeled 'King Alfred', you would not get getting the real 'King' and would not know what daffodil you are purchasing, unless you buy 'King Alfred' from a few certain sources who do have the real thing.  The real thing would not be inexpensive and likely those sources have stopped selling from their catalogs for this year.  'Carlton', on the other hand, is a readily available good garden daffodil and, if you're lucky, you might be able to find some on sale.

I did a Google search for "Carlton daffodil bulbs" under Google shopping and came up with several sites that list it.  You'd have to check the individual webpages to see if they still have them in stock.  It is rather late for ordering daffodil bulbs, though if you can find them, they may be listed at a good sale price.

That search was rated by Seller Ratings, but I am not familiar with any of the companies that came up.  Good luck and welcome to Daffnet!  Where are you located?
