that time of the year again…

Hello John,

An excellent source, although limited in quantities, is the Hortus Bulborum in Limmen, Holland. Due to the colder climate, winter flowering tazettas are however scarcely represented. In Italy in the Region of Apulia (Puglia in Italian) a young engineer, Angelo Porcelli, who knows a lot about geophytes has an interesting collection of tazettas. He also grows a number of other Amaryllidaceae and makes new crosses.

Regards

                 Henry (Rome)

Henry- good to see you are still on this list,
I would think Sarah is interested in the named
varieties which have not been available here
for many years- do you know of any gardens
or nurseries who claim to have some of the
old dutch hybrids from before the war?
