This is the second and last message with some photos of the Mother Lode town of Murphys, near which the ADS convention will take place.
The old carriage is on the grounds of the Murphys Hotel (the canopy is a clue) and is one of the featured antiques, a reminder of the days in the late 19th century.
The General Store across the street from the Hotel has the interesting false facade that was common in the commercial buildings in the pre-1900 era. This has been restored and maintained by one of the enthusiasts of Historic Murphys.
On Friday, March 12, in the morning, we will have a walking tour of town led by a docent from the local historical association, during the period when the National Show is being judged.
