A Golden Wedding Anniversary today for these very well known team of Kiwi daff growers ..
We had a very enjoyable lunch and afternoon mixing with friends and family .
Ever guest went home with a special golden package containing a handful of golden daffodil bulbs ..
This photo was taken 50 years ago today at their ceremony in Rotorua .
It was also his 22 birthday that day 20 February 1960 — obviously he was 72 today ..
Amongst the many stories told , it was revealed that he was allowed to set the wedding date ;
he chose his birthday so that he wouldn,t forget their special day .
We were told to plant the bulbs and every spring when they flower , we will remember them
and the enjoyable day we had today .
Those of you who joined the Kiwi touring party to the Convention in Europe in 2008 will have
enjoyed their company ; they certainly enjoyed the tour , the flowers and the people they met .
