Ironstone in Spring

Friends:

Ironstone Vineyards, the site of upcoming ADS Convention in Murphys CA from March 11-14, has an art show along with its other daffodil festivities each spring.  Two of the paintings in the exhibit this year are by ADS member Jackie Turbidy.  To see them in a larger size than I’m posting, go to  http://Ironstonemuseum.blogspot.com  Scroll down about 2/3 of the way to see the  Spring Obsession Competition.  There are Jackie’s  two beautiful paintings, which will be for sale at Ironstone.

While you are dreaming of the convention and its venue, and if you have not yet registered, please remember that it is not too late even now, even though we are past the "early bird" discount period.  One Hundred Sixty attendees have registered so far, and that many daffodilians can’t be wrong that we’re going to have a great time.

The weather in northern California continues cool, cloudy (by our standards) and moist.  We’ve had 3 inches of rain in Livermore again this week (in a climate with an annual average of 14.8), so the weather for daffodil development is as good as it gets here.  Our highs have been in the upper 50s and our low last night was 36, and the pattern is predicted to continue.  Everything is developing slowly and beautifully, unlike the years where there are a few days in February in the upper 70s.

Hope to see you there,
Melissa
