NENCDS Show, Barco, NC

All,
We had the Northeastern North Carolina Daffodil Show on March 20th, 2010.  It has been a very cold winter and spring in Northeastern North Carolina.  By this time on a “normal” year, we are in full bloom.  However, this year I received calls from Judges and members asking if we were going to cancel the show because of no bloom.  I held in there strong and kept insisting we would have flowers, even though I put out a 911 for daffodils to all members asking them to bring all that they had.
Here is the results of that show:

ADS Six (different) Miniatures by Hybridizer Award: Not offered.  I could have done this one this year as well.  It may be in the show next year.
I did take some pictures this year but I don’t want to SPAM daffnet so I will send them gently to those people that ask and a to the Northeastern North Carolina Daffodil Society.
Thank you,
Clay

  1. Clay:
Great show report.  As to your fear of "spamming" daffnet, some of us are very glad for all the photo postings, and I, for one, encourage your posting of your photos so all can see.

  2. Hi Clay,
Good for you for not cancelling!!  What’s the saying . . .if you build it, they will come?  Same thing about flowers, unless maybe you’re the first show of a late season.  Sounds like a nice display for visitors.
Congratulations to all the winners, and to all the exhibitors who brought flowers.  By all means, post  your photos.
    Mary Lou

  3. Sorry to spam the net.  However, I got a lot of requests to do so.  I’m usually a big delete guy when others do the same thing.

I just have to remember that I’m getting a large collection of hybridized miniatures and standards hanging around.  I named one last year, Montongo 10Y-Y.  I may just name a couple more soon.
