Seedlings 2

This is ((Pontresina x (Edna Earl x Rahee)) x N. assoanus (NNA) with fertile pollen NA of one chromosome set N and one A from N. assoanus. I didn’t measure the flower diameter but I think it is a little smaller than 50 mm. It flowered in 2008 for the first time and has been used for crosses with Regeneration in 2009 and 2010. It shall be combined in 2011 with N. cyclamineus, N. triandrus pallidulus, N. scaberulus and N. calcicola. All descendants of the planned crosses will have three chromosome sets. This may be better for the vitality than only two chromosome sets from two species, but with N the plants grow bigger.
