Hi Daffnetters ,
Winter is with us now in N Z and growth is slow ..
A mix of daffs for market — only very small lines of erlicheer, yellow trumpets and Toru , a tall , strong 8 W – y .
Toru , a Max Hamilton sdlg , was top dollar .
I was in the garden center last weekend , after some potting mix .
Came out with potting mix and a small pot of daffs ..
I have plenty of daffs for my house and also for my old mum ( 85 in a few weeks ) so don,t need
any more ..
But these caught my ..Only 8 pots in the display and I chose the only one with 6 buds ..
The label says ” Orange Eyes ” — but is not listed on Daffseek .
Last 2 photos taken this morning — it is a very bright display on mums patio .
A very round flower , well over 4 inches — 100 mm — and an eye- catching big flat cup ..
It is obviously a forced flower — I,m sure it would have spent Christmas at home in Holland
”Orange Eyes ” is a very suitable name — is it the correct name .??
I know why they put the chocolates and candys at eye level by the check-out —
My weakness is the pot plant section .
