This one was just showing colour last time I was at Wilfs .
It was rather intiguing and I was keen to see the mature flowers — a first flower ..
Do we sometimes judge the ” different ” flowers a little to much to top exhibition standards
when they are attractive enough to speak for themselves . This has a charm of it,s own – well worth
a spot in the garden ..
David Adams wrote an article for last years N Z Daff Annual , suggesting that we may not always
be showing what the public prefer but rather what we want to show ..
Although this seedling if very early for the show season , I suspect it is what Dave had in mind ..
Put a marker by it Wilf !!
Cheers John .

JOHN,
this is the Avalanche x Bramble Hill seedling that I was talking about with the unusual colouring. Bramble Hill’s pedigree was (Mannequin x Garland) x Arbar. A great decorative flower but needs a bit of work on it to get it on a show bench.
