Like Mellissa, I pop the grub out using a wooden skewer (the type used for making kebabs – but I don’t attempt to harvest/eat them
Over here the foliage is drying off nicely and I’ve found that the deterrent ‘Ripchord’ in association with a lovely green covering of ‘Wild flowers’ and weeds is keeping the odd noisy beasties away so far. Only one heard or seen this year to date.

PS. The country is in shock because of a major Coal Mine explosion on the West Coast South Isand – 27 in the mine and no one can go in because of probable poison gas.
