Snow Goose

We ended up with about 6″ of snow, then colder than normal temperatures gave us snow covered lawns for a full week. I believe that might be a Lesser Snow Goose that has been hanging around locally for a couple of years.
Those are the tops of some jonquils that are showing bits of leaves above the snow on day 2 of the storm! Keith Kridler Mt. Pleasant, Texas

  1. I love the snow geese. They migrate through here and stop over in our field and those around us. It is a delight to see them move in huge groups like a swaying cloud. Groups will move at different times so the scene is almost like watching a swaying ballet. The chatter is not at all offensive. In fact I consider it a blessing that our changing world still affords such a sight even though the flocks have diminished in size over the years.
