Hi Daffnetters ,
Hope you are all surviving the cold burst of weather , particularlyin the States .
Just when you were starting to think of daffs emerging — another hugh snowfall .
Some interesting miniatures in pots from Steve V. — the tops in the outdoor
gardens must be wondering when it,s finally safe to put their noses through .
We had our summer dahlia and gladioli show in Otaki yesterday and today .
It was a misty drissle for almost all the period — warm — top 22o C , low 18o C
but very humid 90 % humidity — no drying the daff bulbs today .
We have a lot of members that grow , show and breed both daffs and summer flowers .
Champion Gladioli was Pink Gem ; bred , and shown by Wayne Hughes .
All these large are Waynes seedlings .
He has some stunning reds and working hard on the blues ..
Wayne is a great breeder ; he visited Wayne the Golden Pheasant , also a good breeder ,
At Kevins , on the way home .
Cheers John ..
