The first mini seedling leaves peeked through! They weren’t there yesterday.

Hi Steve,
Poor little babies! You did have the chance to see them for a few days. Here in central Ohio we have no leaves out of the ground, let alone flowers. However, today I found some winter aconite under a tree starting to bloom. We were above 50 degrees today and it will get cold again in a couple more days. The good thing is that I got all the Christmas lights down from the outside trees. I was almost going to turn them back on since I couldn’t get out there in the cold. …but I resisted the impulse.

Winter has returned to Sherwood, Oregon. For the next week, night temps in the low twenties to mid thirties (F) with snow likely a few nights. Things will slow up outside by a considerable degree.
