Is there anyone from your listd that grows Narc Tazetta patulus or ochreulucus.I have been growing it outside on a warm terrace and it has not failed me for thirty years. bulbs have been sent to Delia Bankhead and she passed it on to the expert grower Harold K. I have had no feed back in this time. Flowwering today 1st April and last a very long time in bloom and in water. Perfumed to. Only four florets to short stem at flowering which lengths in time. White slighted petals with a pale yellow cup. This has been sent to Dave Adams Wilf Hall and Max Hamilton in N.z. with also no comments. The only place I know that has it flowering is someone from Nelson who must have followered my comments when I sent bulbs to her. Hope someone can help. Betty Clark .
Hello Betty:
Yes I have a pot of about 4 bulbs, now originally from Delia and with B. Clark, NZ on the label. They flower regularly every year for me in mid-November, that is late Autumn for us. They have short spikes with 4-5 florets and relatively narrow tepals but a fairly richly colored yellow cup, I would not call it pale. It is highly fertile and sets seed nearly every year. I suspect that the bulbs are virused. I suspect that it is not N. patulus, which is one of the Italian ones and not so early flowering. And probably not N. ochroleucus either, the latter usually giving a heavier truss of flowers.
Betty do you know where the bulbs originated? Where did you get them?
Harold
