Daffodil bulb auction here and now! Closes at 5pm on Sunday, May 15

I made a mistake with some of Spud Brodgen's bulbs at the recent spring ADS convention in Jackson, MS, but my mistake could be your gain!  I neglected to put 9 bulbs of his in the auction.  Spud has generously given me permission to auction them off here with proceeds going to support ADS.  These bulbs are from Brogden Daffodils of New Zealand and here is how the auction will work.

I have 6 bulbs of 'First Call', 2 bulbs of 'Southern Command', and 1 of 'Showdown'.  I will accept bids sent directly to my email address at title= ONLY please.  Please do not send bids to BODnet or Daffnet. (I am posting this notice on Daffnet and BODnet, so if you are on the ADS board, you are receiving this message twice for that reason.)

To bid, please state which cultivar you are bidding on and the amount of your bidOpening bid for each of these is $50.  Once a day I will post one message to BODnet and one to Daffnet with the top bids.  At 5:00 on Sunday, May 15, bidding will close and I will notify the winners.  The top 6 bids for 'First Call' will each win a bulb of 'First Call', the top 2 for 'Southern Command' will win a bulb of 'Southern Command', and the top 1 for 'Showdown' will win the single bulb of 'Showdown'.

Bidders please consider the import regulations of your home country before bidding.
Note to Bidders: Many of the leading hybridizers around the world support the American Daffodil Society Bulb Auctions. Their generous donations make this auction possible. In order to ensure continued donations of their newest and best creations, the A.D.S. asks that buyers hold bulbs purchased in their garden and NOT release, trade, donate, sell, or distribute any bulb from this auction for a period of five years. We thank you for your generous participation and appreciate your respect for the bulb growers’ economic concerns.

I will expect a check made out to ADS sent to me by the end of May at the latest.  If I receive your check sooner, I will mail your bulb at that time.  I have the bulbs here and they are all nice sized rounds.  If you have any questions, you can email me those, too.

I’ll send the photo of ‘First Call’ in this message and the photo with information on the other two bulbs in two following messages.

‘First Call’, 2009, Impeccable x (Kiwi Moon x Bramley 2 Y-Y seedling )

Ready, set, bid!
