Milk and Wine Lily

Friends,
Attached you will find a ‘Milk and Wine Lily’ that was blooming in my yard yesterday.  Actually, it is a crinum, one of the many forms of Crinum x. herbertii.  This crinum is actually a grex.  Scott Ogden, Garden Bulbs for the South, states, “Dean Herbert originated the first milk and win lily in 1819.”
My bulbs came from David Atkins, Natchez, MS, who now blames me for rescuing any bulbous plant, not just daffodils for which he is well known.
