Hi everyone
Before he passed away Max Hamilton bequeathed to us a number of his
poets. These included named varieties, varieties under number and
unflowered 2 and 3 year old seedlings and seeds. These have done well
this year and it has been an absolute delight to see some already
familiar varieties as well as new varieties flowering. These are four
that I have seen for the first time this year. The top and bottom ones
I have numbered as they flowered from the three year old bulbs he gave
us: 11-96 and 11-98. The second is Hamilton 169-09, the third,
Whitford Snowflake. I found 11-96 particularly striking as 2/3 of the
cup is green. I mutilated 11-98 to pollinate it before I thought of
the possibility people may wish to see it’s unusually coloured cup,
code GWO.
