First of the season.

It’s snowing to-day but this little pot is sheltered in the greenhouse. Of Moroccan originthis selected Sdg. 2929, nicknamed ‘Limey Lass’ is a sort of population explosion! Even though the stems are a bit long they do stand up and though the very fine leaves top the flowers I don’t think they offend too much. It’s just another bulbocodium but nice to have on a snowy day.

  1. What a cheerful sight on a snowy day in Minnesota! Thanks, Brian – I
really should try to grow something like this! Ethel Smith

  2. Hello Harold,
Parentage is a bit indeterminate – my notes indicate either an OP. stock from Asni, Morocco or crossed with one of three other Moroccan stocks collected originally by the Wallis’s – so it’s pedigree is not one to be proud of.
I have several selected stocks of N. bulbocodiums but I hesitate to register any of them until they prove that they really have consistently something special about them. I suspect we already have too many named bulbocodiums. But I give them semi-descriptive nicknames so I can remember them the more easily from year to year.
    Brian
