blooming in Ohio, in a pot

Friends,

This little seedling is a cross of N. jonquilla x N.scaberulus. This is the third year it has bloomed, and there are 4 bloom stems. From the looks of the plant, it would seem to be N. jonquilla op, except for its small size. The diameter of the top bloom is 5/8 inches and it is 6 inches tall. In comparison, the other N. jonquilla op in the same photo is 1-1/4 inches in diameter, and as you can see, it’s quite a bit taller.

So, has the scaberulus made it smaller, or is it just within the range of jonquilla?

(Sorry about the color in the closeup. I used a flash to assure sharpness.)

  1. Mary Lou,

Really love the N. jonquilla x N. scaberulus! Choice little plant that seems in the photo to have the N. jonquilla parent rounded foliage with the scaberulus parent type flower. How very nice and distinctive. Hope this does well for you. Super impressive!
