Friends:
Someone who has helped me with my daffodils has asked me if I know a
single word that means “opening in response to light” (likely in
latin or greek?). I’ve been unable to come up with one. Are any of
you able to think of a single word with this meaning, in any language?
Thanks,
Melissa

Heliotropic–you missed a key, Denis.;->

There are some great suggestions so far, but still none of them
conveys the meaning of opening. Tropism is turning toward, or
growing toward. I haven’t been able to come up with it either, and
will appreciate your continued efforts and suggestions.

How about photptropic? It applies to animals–maybe to plants, too.

There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats.

Photoanthesis would work.
