Another local daff exhibitor, Brian MacKenzie, captured the
top dahlia prize
with a vase of three small decs, “Winholme Diane.
Brian has only a small daff patch and often has time at the
daff shows to help
others get their blooms on the benches.
His good eye for balance and symmetry makes him a great
asset to all he assists.
It shows at the Dahlias — this winnng vase was so even and
well presented,
just telling the judge it was ready for the top table. A
great vase Brian.
The very bright waterlily ” Taratahi Ruby “, has great form
and colour
appeal and is frequently in the winning circle.
It is one of the better known Kiwi Dahlias shown internationally.
