Arkansas Daffodil show

I only had time to snap a few photos of their show. It was 8:30 in the morning and most of the blooms were still in buckets and or sitting around on the staging tables. Several weeks of 80*F or 27*C weather and then about 8 inches of rainfall from multiple severe thunderstorms from across a wide region turned this from a “Yellow bloom” daffodil show to a “Poeticus and White bloom” daffodil show!

There were still some incredible blooms but you all will have to wait on some of the other photographers that were taking photos of the collections and blooms.

Brent and Becky Heath sent in a really nice collection of blooms for an education display shown in the one photo. This two day show is held in a wonderful library. They combined the daffodil show with a huge discount used book sale and normally there was a crowd of people at the display. I had to wait a while to just get a clear shot of the table.

Char Roush and David Jones fought tooth and nail all night Friday till 4:30 AM Saturday cleaning and staging blooms! It paid off as they ended up in a 21 blue ribbon tie each for the Silver Ribbon! Most of the rest of us might as well have just pigged out on coffee and donuts as Larry Force swept up one major award after another with outstanding collections. Keith Kridler Mt. Pleasant, Texas
