Giant triandrus

We just returned from North-western Spain. At one site we came across
the largest specimens of N. triandrus triandrus I have ever seen. 6
flowers to the stem and standing about 15″ tall. Individual florets
seem just too big to consider this a miniature. Coronas were very
white and the perianth an ivory white. Leaves were quite wide, over
1/4″ wide, and glaucus. It had been raining so the flowers were
somewhat battered.

  1. Hi Harold,

What can one say but, “Oh My GOODNESS”. So far my choice for the neatest and most intriguing flower of 2012.

Thanks for the photo and Welcome Back,
    Steve
