soil testing

Thanks to all who replied to my question about soil testing. I’ve a call in to Ohio State, waiting for a reply. I’d already decided to cover the beds with plastic after removing the remaining bulbs. So, thanks, Keith, for advice on that subject. James, you mentioned crop rotation. That’s one thing I can’t do. My daffodils have been growing in the same soil for going on 24 years now. I know rotation would help, but it’s impossible. I was interested in your comment about immediate replanting though. I have to say that I lost some choice seedlings last summer while they were out of the ground. And just when I thought there were probably enough bulbs to share with others as a safeguard against loss. Too late now… I’ll probably do some HWT on the remaining bulbs closest to the area with the losses.

Again, thanks to all.
