Release the Hounds!

Cool rain was falling on the Sunday daffodil tours. The Topiary gardens were incredible. Maryland and the New England states were famous for their fox hunts. The hardest part of these hunts was the poor fellows who had to go out and train all of the dogs, they often had to actually point out to the hounds just where the red and or grey fox were.

This was BEFORE Happy Hour and there was about an inch of water out in these lawns:-))

Just to the right of the driveway you can see a conifer or the lower part of the tree. This one happens to be the State Champion Dawn Redwood tree for Maryland. Planted sometime around 1950, give or take a decade probably. There is actually a clump of them in that area, they resemble a Bald Cypress from a distance.

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to who that was leading the hounds on “Thee Grand Old Fox Hunt”? Keith Kridler back in the Northeast corner of Texas…

  1. Keith,

I thought you had lost your marbles until I looked at the pictures. Really nice.

  2. Keith,
Look like no one knows. It is David Burdick running with the hounds and Anne Nigrelli looking on with amusement. Great picture!
