Not a Daffodil – again

This guy is a bit larger than Becky’s planthopper. I found him/her resting by our front door last week warming up; I suspect it had just emerged from the laval stage.
Note the sacks pumping blood into the wings to extend them. Not sure of the species, possibly a Norfolk Hawker.

    Dear Mike and all,
I’m attaching an excerpt I’ve saved from a book titled The Great Deluge by historian David Brinkley. The book is about Hurricane Katrina that devastated a large swath the Gulf Coast of the United States in 2005. The book is written in the style developed by Truman Capote in his famous work In Cold Blood. The author takes you through the storm going back and forth in alternating chapters from what government agencies were doing to how individuals and families were dealing with the storm personally. It’s a fascinating read that I recommend to all.
