Amarygia – Not a Daffodil

Amarygia-A

Getting on towards fall here with cooler nights but no rain at all in August. No fall blooming daffodils yet. Some signs of life in the Nerine hybrids.

Below is a pink Amarygia. Amarygia is a cross of Brusvigia josephinea x Amaryllis belladonna. This was raised from seed here. Seed was from a cross made by the late Les Hannibal.
The white flower in the background is a Lapageria also raised from seed here, commonly known as the Chilean Bellflower. Not hardy but I find it stunning and worth the effort.
