Saturday 6 October was the last Central Region show for the 2012 season .
Held in the Palmerston North Lutheran Church Hall, a large gathering of
exhibitors and partners staged about 350 stems in a colourful display .
The very early season meant a lot of the blooms had spent a week or so
in the fridges but generally flower condition was excellent with strong
competition in most classes and grades .
A continuous supply of tea , coffee and food ( a big lunch ) , with plenty of
discussion of the big Dunedin Convention Show ensured an enjoyable day for all .
Champion Bloom — 2Y – YO , — Pacific Fire ,– Wayne Hughes .
This John Hunter raised flower was ulta smooth , great symmetry, excellent stance,
was a standout winner , – a fine flower from Wayne in Whanganui .
Reserve Champion — — 7 Y – Y — — Stratosphere , — Trevor Collis .
Again , a very smooth 3 header ,clean , well held flowers on a good stem .
Most agreed , the best of this seen for many seasons .Trevor , an amateur
grade exhibitor from Kairanga, has been a regular supporter for many seasons .
John Hollever convened the senior judging panel , Spud Brogden , Wilf Hall
and Wayne Hughes .
