Pollen Volume and Chromosome Content of Daffodils; Possibilities for hybridizing 2

I have some new results for pollen volumes and chromosome contents of daffodils as a pdf-document. The results are integrated into my paper from February 2012. Perhaps some hybridizers may be interested. Pollen Volume and Chromosome Content of Daffodils; Possibilities for hybridizing 2

  1. Thanks Theo.

After scanning your article quickly I would observe that I have found Limequilla x Emerald Sea and my own (Hillstar x Quickstep) x Emerald Sea to be usefully fertile and similarly their offspring from the same kinds of crosses. Strangest of all for me is the perfectly fertile (Hillstar x Emerald Sea?) x [(Limequilla x Emerald sea) x N. fernandesii]. The pollen parent is sterile but it is interesting that its slight fertility is exactly what one would have wished for. The main division, jonquilla, viridiflorus and fernandesii are all evident in this plant which suggests the jonquilla, fernandesii and viridiflorus can be compatible.
