Season begins Downunder

Hi All,

Here is a pic of a daffodil flowering now. It was lifted over summer and planted a month or so ago, so apart from the extra watering it has received this is pretty much its natural flowering time here. It is establishing itself as the first to flower, which is ironic given that early flowers tend to have white perianths. Interestingly it is earlier than its parent N. elegans.  This would make its sibling First Stanza misnamed except that none of the other siblings from this cross has First Stanza’s wonderful vigor and are unlikely to be named.

I’ve been appreciating all the photos but don’t like to comment on them one by one. If I had to choose a recent most-impressed-by I think I would uncontroversially pick Harold’s winning miniature at Livermore.
