I can’t recall ever seeing a distinctly orange stigma on a daffodil before. I’m going to pretend this is a precursor to an all orange tazetta 8O-O (until reality catches up with me in a few years time).
On checking a a late specimen of N. elegans in the field it looks as if this may be a characteristic of some (all?) of the species but the stigma is so slender it is barely noticeable and so long that it can be pollinated just by de-anthering.
