Standard 3W-O

Intense color! This is V02-117-1 from a cross of two 1995 seedlings. It is: V95-140-5 (Fresno x Royal Marine) x V95-11-1 (D1130 x Royal Marine). D1130 is a Div. 3W-O seedling of Brian Duncan’s. The grandparents of the cross pictured below has Clive Postles ‘Royal Marine on both sides.

One of the criteria for the 1995 crosses was to utilize the crisp, clean white perianth expressed in Brian’s ‘D1130’, and his ‘Fresno’. I wanted to combine them with Clive’s excellent ‘Royal Marine’ and its clean white perianth. Oddly enough the seedling grex that resulted opens with a distinctly off white perianth but they all pass to a brilliant, bright white within a day. The corona of this seedling is highly suffused and notably even in the dark orange color.

  1. Steve –

Great flower and photo.  That orange color is so intense it could be  International Orange.
