‘Snipe’ 6 W-W (1948) A.M. Wilson, Wales

Sunday, April 14, 2013, was garden tour day for attendees of the 2013 Columbus American Daffodil Society Convention and National Show.  After several cold, dreary, and rainy days, we  were welcomed to a cool, sunny Sunday morning.  Before lunch, the main tour event  was the stop at Drew McFarland’s Beinn Sloidh Farm where I never got out of the area planted mostly with historic daffodils.   Just what I needed for a garden tour day! After lunch at the Granville Inn, I saw a strikingly beautiful clump of ‘Snipe’ 6 W-W at one of the stops.  Despite the many advances in miniature daffodils, ‘Snipe’ is still my favorite division 6 miniature.  I first saw it many years ago in Nashville at a Middle Tennessee Daffodil Society Show at Cheekwood.  Attached is a photo of the clump of ‘Snipe.’

  1. I hope Drew gets some bulbs of the Snipe. It is a wonderful seed parent.
