Early Doubles

The early doubles make a nice change from all the yellows.  I have quite a range of yellow perianths, but few with white backs. The beautiful John Hunter all whites will help to improve this  —  I made several crosses today, using pollen off the whites on to Early Orbit, a tall, strong early yellow double.

I had 3 nice flowers of this white double just flowered, unfortunately, none with pistils or stamens, from the cross Cull  Dear Me seedling  —  x  Early  Orbit.

They have the size and strength of Early Orbit but lack a bit in form and colour.

Seedling J F M  07 – 7 , has been the best of the very early yellow orange doubles.

Much brighter colour than parent Early Orbit and a few days earlier.

  1. John, I’m still determined to own a bulb or two of your ‘Ballistic’.  It is one of the nicest doubles I’ve seen.
