The doubles are usually very strong in Otaki ; the vase of 3 class had 11 very good entries .BALLISTIC was yellow back premier and JFM 06 – 29 was white backed premier . It has a very smooth perianth , a tidy high center , I just wish it was either whiter or stronger yellow .
Reg Cull had a nice seedling H C / T 3 to win the Div 5 Triandrus premier .It is bred Hillstar – x – Triandrus Triandrus ; Reg is considering registering it as it is very consistent .The cross gave a host of good triandrus seedlings in an interesting colour mix .
Reg also showed the cyclaminius prem with a well reflexed ABRACADABRA .
The tazetta prem went to Wilf Hall (surprise ) with a nice seedling G M X – 101.
He also continued his run with early Poets , winning prem with W P – 1 .
Split coronas were not in big supply but a nice vase of LEISA gave John McLennan another prem .
The NOE prem went to Reg Cull with a big flower of 1 w – o WHITFORD SUNSET .
The seedling prem went to Wayne Hughes with a very bright redcup W H – 20 / 18 that pushed hard for best redcup .
The consistent ESKEDOS 2 Y – O was intermediate prem for Wilf.
Wilf also had mini prem with a bright ,small tazetta WTH 10 – T11 – 8Y – O .
GRANDE MONARQUE was prem historic multihead for Julie Harris.
A very keen Intermediate Grade exhibitor Liz Murray won her grade prem with a good DELIGHTFUL LADY 4 W – P.
The vase of 3 same variety prem went to a tall vaseof FIRST CALL , 2 Y – Y from John McLennan and Kevin Sherlock took the vase of 7 , public vote , with a mixed vase of PINK TANGO and HIGHFIELD BEAUTY .
