Christchurch Show

The Christchurch Show  was held on the 21st and 22nd September. The New Zealand Alpine Garden Society, the Canterbury Rhododendron Society and the Christchurch Daffodil Circle combine for this annual show which is held in the Canterbury Horticultural Society hall. The show is a visual delight and of considerable horticultural and botanical interest. Entries were slightly down in the Alpine section but there were 260 entries and 630 stems in the daffodil section. A following post will detail the daffodil section.

as we become the information table for Daffodil Society with many visitors seeking cultural advice and we are the visible point of contact.

  1. Fantastic photos David. Great to see the Species section of the Alpine Show. We all look forward to seeing some more photos. With the nights drawing in with us in N. Ireland a fix of yellow from the southern Hemisphere spurs us on to keep planting and look forward to the reward of spring.

  2. David Good to see the alpines and the species Narcissus Thanks for sharing wish I could have been there.
