A few more poet seedlings

As we are talking poets, here are a few seedlings that might be of interest.

Three of these next ones, Loyce had a hand in their creation. While visiting Shaws Nature Reserve during the National Convention in St Louis, Loyce found a little poet bloom with a lot of green in the corona. I talked her out of it on the bus back to the hotel.  Apon returning home all I had left in bloom to use the pollen on,  was a few very late blooming daffodils. Lemon Tree was one of them.

  1. I particularly like the third lemon tree bloom. Great colour and form.

  2. Wow, Larry!

Those from ‘Lemon Tree’ are amazing!  Now I may be contracting poet fever.  I thought I had gotten over it, but I’m having a relapse!  If you can grow them and do well, surely I can find a few that will do well for me.  I’ll have to give ‘Rondo’ a try, at the very least.

  3. Melissa,

Thanks for the kind comment. They are somewhat late bloomers, a little before Lemon Tree. Thats ok, I like some late blooming daffodils. A lot of the shows in the spring are north of me, especially The National Conventions. A lot of the time the very late bloomers are all I have left to carry as I will be about bloomed out. Although, Jackson was in my blooming season, I should have blooms for Little Rock next spring and some blooms for St Louis in 2016.

  4. Whoa!  Larry, those are dandy!  Not to be biased by the SNR crosses, but they are gorgeous!  The first and third (Lemon Tree x SNR) flowers, and the (Dimple x Little Kibbler) are exquisite!   Hope you plan to register them!

  5. Poets with solid orange-red cups are still relatively rare. Great hybrids, Larry.

    Merry Christmas.
