A number of years ago I sowed some romieuxii seed from the alpine society and among the yellow flowers were some white ones. I crossed these 4 years ago and now have a small pot with 8 white flowers that are very welcome at this time of year. Joy Bishop was crossed with pollen from one of the original whites 3 years ago and the first couple of seedlings from this cross have just opened. These flowers are never going to feature at flower shows but they lend a bit of interest to dark December days when the first noses of the earliest standard cultivare are just appearing in the daffodil plot outside.
Very nice Derrick! I find that the appeal of the bulbocodium types can really grow over time. They are really lovely things with many flowering at a time of year when little else is in flower. Congratulations on these.
