Almost a flower

Hi Folks,

We’ve had a couple of posts of NZ Summer flower shows so I thought I’d add a bit to lighten your day. We got a premier ribbon too.

We only started entering the Riccarton HS Summer show last year and gained a premier at our first attempt. We again got a premier this year with another version of the same cultivar. Actually it was for best exhibit in the fruit and vegetable section. Best in Section

We also got firsts for beans, rhubarb and  pears.

Flowers entered

These are some of the flowers that we took. The water lily dahlias got second in a class of five. We have this vase in our lounge and it certainly makes a lovely, colour co-ordinated vase.

Summer flowers and fruit can almost be as beautiful as the spring ones and at least some can be eaten.

Actually here’s a teaser. Who can tell us what the foliage is in the bottom right corner of the flower photo?
