Now that you have probably read Kirby’s pictorial show report, here are few photos of Ironstone’s grounds and the show.

The Calaveras County Garden Club held an artistic design show and one of the classes was titled “Underwater”. Here a some highlights of their show.

Here are a few photos from the daffodil show.

Thank you Ironstone Vineyards for the beautiful venue and wonderful support in hosting our annual Mother Lode Show.

Many of you may remember Larry Ringland from the 2010 Convention.  Larry said to tell you he is looking forward to seeing you all again!

Wonderful pictures.  It brings back good memories from 2010.  Sometime soon we have to have another convention there.  Maybe when they build the three star hotel that the owner said was in the plans.  What a marvelous place to have a show!

Leitha and I echo Donna’s thoughts. Photos from almost the same situations where we took photos last time we were there so that makes them special. We have just scrolled through the photos and had a wonderful time reminiscing on our time at Murphys. We did think that having the flowers staged in the cave as I had seen it on a previous occasion gave a more unique touch to the show even though it could be bitterly cold in the outdoor situation.

    Ben !

Marvelous photo tour of the show.

Question:  Under one of the ‘Under Water’ arrangements is the note: thinly sliced.  What does that mean?

    Hi Linda,

I observed the daffodil cups were thinly sliced which gave them a “frilly” appearance.  I found this underwater artistic design class very interesting!  The Calaveras County Garden Club always has very beautiful designs.

Thanks for the explanation, Ben.  I thought that class was interesting also and, in that particular vase, applauded the use of  glass balls to mimic air bubbles.  Nice design!

Great photos Ben! I agree with Donna, they remind me of the convention in Murphy’s.
