Spring in Ohio? Maybe for a day or two

Spring seems a long way away in Ohio, too, but we’ve had two or three days of warm weather, with temperature in the 60s.  This little trumpet seedling is trying to open, as you can see, on very short stems.  Last year the first bloom of this seedling opened on February 19.  And tomorrow we’re supposed to get snow.

The pink and white flower is Koopowitz 03-036-8 which Harold offered in the ADS auction several years ago.  It’s growing it a pot, inside, but I have a piece growing outside as well.  It will be interesting to note the size difference.

I’ve been enjoying all the posts of the interesting seedlings and show results.  Keeps us going until our spring arrives.  So thanks to those who take the time to photograph and post.

First bloom of the outdoor season.
