SNR 9W-G naturally-occurring hybrid
Just a glimpse of the fun things we find during our annual Shaw Nature Reserve daffodil digs. Like, really fun things. Fun things that seem relatively consistent from year to year. Fun things that make some people (and other daffodils) GREEN with envy!
This naturally-occurring poeticus hybrid was collected three years ago amongst a vast seedling swath of green-eyed white and yellow-rimmed poets, and is now being grown by a member in the Greater Saint Louis Daffodil Society. Not too bad (if not a little dirty).

And on May 5 after 6 days open, this flower is still green and has not turned yellow, but it is in decline. The flower probably opened Apr 29. And it does have rain splashed dirt on the petals. It is about 15 inches tall.
That’s good news, Peter! Perhaps valuable for breeding green.
