mid July

The first of the heavy frosts have hit. Fortunately I picked a few tazettas before hand – this is good as they are ever likely to be at this time of year in this climate.

Taz Mid July

The hybrids between Emerald Sea and the Quickstep/Hillstar/Limequilla types are delicious.

Good bicolor bulbocodiums have not leapt out of the seedling beds. Forms are improving but contrast is still lacking.

  1. Lawrence,  Your tazettas are lovely.  I have a number of seedlings out of ‘Bright Spangles’ X. N. jonquilla and ‘Bright Spangles’ X N. willkommii that have increased very well.  As I was in England for three months early this year, I missed my daffodil season here in Mississippi.  So, hopefully in 2015, I will name a couple of seedlings.  Yes, the Quick Step/Hillstar/Limequilla types are indeed ‘delicious.’

  2. You are right Ted, the tazettas look superb. The reverse Div 10s also look very promising and a real advance on this colour combination. How long to a pink bulbocodium?
