OTAKI DAFFODIL SHOW – 2014

Our  local  Otaki  Horticultural  Society  had  our  116  th  Spring  show  on  Friday  5  September  .We  have  downsized  to  a  smaller  one  day  show  as  our  regular  growers  and  supporters  are  all  steadily  ageing  ;  up  and  down  in  one  day  is  an  easier  option .  We  were  pleased  with  a  total  of  about  350  blooms  staged  as  we  knew  many  were  holding  back  their  champions  for  the  N I National  ,  next  weekend  close  by  in  Waikanae . We  have  had  virtually  no  rain  for  three  weeks  ;  the  flowers  were  on  average  , just  a  little  undersize  but  in  good  condition  as the  winds  had  also  been  absent .

  1. That’s one beautiful ‘Ballistic’ John excellent flower well done.

  2. Thanks John, for getting a full set of photos up so quickly. Judging by the quality of flower we are going to have a cracking show at Waikanae next weekend. I am reluctant to bring any of our small, dry and cold affected flowers into such an arena.

  3. Lovely photos John, thanks for posting them.  The Ballistic is beautiful, congratulations!
